TUESDAY NIGHT “ALONE TOGETHER” VIRTUAL SING
with Jane Lewis & Katherine Wheatley
Tuesdays, 7:30-8:30 pm ET.
Drop in any week!
On Zoom.
We’ll offer different songs each week, so you can drop in any time! You get lyrics in advance. We’ll look at harmonies on one or two songs, but the majority will be pure singalong. They will be classic songs that you are likely to know, or can learn quickly. Pay What You Can.
If you have questions, please email Cheryl at admin@all-together-now.ca
*IMPORTANT NOTES!
Technology does not yet allow us to sing together online in real time. So all participants will be muted and you will sing along with the song leader. On the Zoom platform, you will SEE everyone singing. It’s still lots of fun!
ABOUT THE FACILITATORS
Jane and Katherine are the best of musical friends. They have presented numerous workshops together, including The Rise Up Singing Choir in Guelph, ON, and Women’s Music Weekend. Due to the pandemic, they have moved online until it is safe to sing together in-person again.
JANE is a strong believer in the power of music to bring people together. When not on stage, she can be found leading vocal & harmony workshops, community singing events, circle singing, vocal meditation, and Women’s Music Weekend retreats. She has studied improvisation with Rhiannon and twice attended the CircleSongs Workshop with Bobby McFerrin. With songwriting that has been described as “intelligent, poetic, and cinematic,” she is a solo artist and part of the folk duo Gathering Sparks. The duo was nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the 2014 Canadian Folk Music Awards, and released their newest album “All That’s Real” in September 2019. www.janelewis.ca
KATHERINE mines heartache as well as the landscape and character of her northern Ontario roots to produce lyrical and melodic gold. Like one of her earliest influences, Gordon Lightfoot, she invokes nature to reflect the emotional intent of her songs. In addition to touring across Canada, the U.S. and Europe as a solo singer/songwriter, she is a member of the Toronto band “Betty and The Bobs”, plays regularly in the hilarious and moving duo “Wendell and Wheat” and tours with Tannis Slimmon and Angie Nussey in the trio “Boreal”. She’s written and recorded over 200 songs with kids through her Youthsongs Programme. Katherine works as a singer and zodiac driver aboard the ship “The Expedition” in Antarctica and the Norwegian Arctic. www.katherinewheatley.com
