The Canada Via Music concert series features three singer-songwriters who have traveled onbaord Via Rail as on board entertainers, playing as the train moves from coast to coast. The musicians for the Guelph show are accomplished storytelling musicians in and off the line:
Doris Folkens (Guelph): Influenced by artists such as Gillian Welch, Eva Cassidy and The Wailin’ Jenny’s, her songs are reminiscent of an era when storytelling was a community pastime.
Peter Light (Guelph) is a genuine storyteller and songwriter who fills his music with amusing anecdotes and a folk lens on life and love.
Dirty Sheep (Ottawa) are a soulful folk duo, the duo brings a powerful blues vocal styling to their sincere songwriting. Their playful harmonies dance between Deborah’s powerful lead and Allain’s gritty follow.
