DATL EP fundraiser & talent show @The Common

Hosted by Drunk at the Library and Wow Great Wow

Friends, it is I, William Gerhard Wellington, of the band Drunk at the Library. Recently, I found myself beset by two gnawing, incessant desires.

Firstly, a desire to round up a bunch of my friends for a “jambouree” or “talent show”—knowing that many of said friends did indeed possess such talents but seldom had reason to express them together at the same place and hour.

Secondly, a desire to release a physical version of DATL’s debut EP (coming this September and entitled “where do you see yourself in 60 years, do you see yourself helping me out of the bath?” or “60 YRS”), the creation of which would require money, the having of which was, alas, not forecasted in my life’s scheduled programming, for I am rich in indulgent sentence structures, not in dollars.

I cleverly determined to “feed both birds with one scone” by asking my friends to gather for a “talent show,” with proceeds bankrolling the creation of cassette and CD versions of our EP, as well as travel money to get us to our release shows in other towns.

    Vanity, thy name is Wellington!

So, we’re doing a show at The Common with a bunch of performers (seasoned musicians and otherwise!) playing a few tunes each or whatever strikes their fancy. Hopefully, we’ll have a couple writers reading as well.

We’re also planning diverse silly methods to drum up some donations.

    Please come out!

Some of the performers thus far include:
Drunk at the Library (us, duh!)
Ian Bain (of Softside and Nicolette & the Nobodies)
    Emily Reimer (of No Boys)
Wet Dream Catchers (new band debut!)
A Boy Named Soup (new band debut!)
    Cara Sanelli
Brock Boonstra and Dana Bellamy (of Habit)
    Mad Marion (of Mad Marion)
    Julia Busatto (reading her poetry)
    Beach Bodies
    Alison McWhirter (reading her poetry)
    Eddy Morin

    With more to be announced!
    All ages welcome!
