Mount Eerie // pwelverumandsun.com
Since 2003, Washington-based Phil Elverum (The Microphones) has been making music under the name Mount Eerie. Each Mount Eerie record feels like an act of Elverum laying himself bare before his listeners, sharing plainly his heartbreaks, fears, and triumphs, and doing it with such raw honesty that it will resonate with even the steeliest heart. No matter the size of the room, Mount Eerie will inevitably draw you in and make you feel like you’re the only one in the audience and his performances are an intimate experience that will leave you changed.
Sarah Pagé // sarahpageharp.com
Montreal-based harpist Sarah Pagé has an extensive resumé (Barr Brothers, Land of Kush, Lhasa, Patrick Watson +) but her first solo LP, Dose Curves, is where she shines brightest. The record, which she self-described as a ‘tribute to the many moods and colours of the harp’, documents the experimental yet inviting music Pagé creates. A true innovator with a live show that showcases the versatility of the harp as well as the expanse of her creative palate, Pagé‘s live performances are a must see.
