The Stampede Ranch plays host to two great country acts for a three night booking this weekend. Kitchener’s Jessie T will be performing this Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9:30 to 1:30. She’ll be joined by frequent collaborators Galley West for what Jessie describes as “a night of your favourite country songs.”
It’s been nearly 8 years since Jessie T relocated from Kingston to Kitchener, in hopes of advancing her music career, and it’s paid off. The award winning singer/songwriter currently plays over 200 shows a year, and released her album Reckless Heart in 2016. She’s coming off the 16th annual Canadian Country Christmas Tour and the holidays barely slowed her down.
A prolific songwriter, she says she’s written between 50 to 60 songs in the last two years, and writes 10,000 words a day from which to mine lyrics for those songs. Jessie is currently working on a new CD, a follow up to Reckless Heart.
This week though, she’s focused on the shows at the Stampede Ranch. “We’ve been apart too long,” she laughs. “It’s good to be back!”
