Bellbird is a newly formed collective of Montreal-based musicians in the Jazz and Improvised Music scene. Composed of Allison Burik, Claire Devlin, Eli Davidovici, and Mili Hong, their unique instrumentation of two woodwinds, bass, and drums, allows them to explore sonic landscapes that allude to harmonic structures without being restricted by them. Musically, the project is characterized by textures and sounds that are malleable, warm, and earthy, driven by the concepts of isolation and resurgence.

Original compositions by each band member pull from a diverse set of influences, including jazz, the avant-garde and folk musics, to showcase the group’s wide range of dynamics and energy.
