THE SOUPCANS (Toronto): soupcans.info // thesoupcans.bandcamp.com
The Soupcans are very tall. They are perverse. Their music is pretty slimy. They sing about things like parasite brains, negative genes and razor faces. They are often too loud. And they are one of the absolute best live bands you will ever see.
/
THE PUCUMBER SASSSQUASH FAMILY BAND (Hamilton): pucumber.bandcamp.com
Hailing from The Hammer, PSFB create perfect, energetic post-punk. With the feel of a hardcore band, and none of the impersonal post-punk leanings, Pucumber Sasssquash Family Band features intricate, dark guitars and synths, pulsing percussion, and vocalist (“Zucchini Jackson”) artistically spewing over top. Don’t miss these Steel City stunners.
/
NATURAL THIRST (Guelph): facebook.com/naturalllthirst
Natural Thirst is the solo project of Chris Worden (Wolfcow, Baby Cages), backed by Emma & Sara Bortolon-Vettor (The Folk). Weird pop, goth ballads – sparse, echoey sad songs.
/
DEANER AND DUNSTER (Guelph): facebook.com/deaneranddunster // cfru.ca/recordings/156
Whether it’s Drive Time, Prime Time or Drunk time, you want to spend it with CFRU 93.3 FM favourites, Deaner and Dunster. With tone zones, impressions, special guests and an arsenal of killer tracks, who knows what they will do. Will they talk? Will they laugh? Will they cry? Will they interview that guy from Slayer? Come find out.
