Guelph-based Magpie is a band of songwriters with four distinct lead vocalists. Their new (and third) full length album Concessions braids rock-tinged alternative folk with poignant and poetic lyrics that mine the nuances of despair, grief, love and reckoning. Magpie is Marnie McCourty, Grant MacLeod, Anna Bowen, Scott Haynes, and Dave Snider. The album also features Jake Nicoll on flute. Concessions was recorded and mixed by Jonas Bonnetta at Port William Sound studios in summer 2023 and mastered by Heather Kirby and was released under Label Fantastic, August 2024. https://therealmagpie.bandcamp
