    Miranda Journey

Miranda Journey is an indie rock-folk singer-songwriter based out of Collingwood, ON.
Growing up in a musical family, Miranda had been inspired to pursue the arts her entire life. She started singing and songwriting at an early age, and began professionally performing by the age of sixteen. Over the past several years, she’s been busking, playing shows and festivals, and partaking in musical projects and collaborations with other local musicians.
In January 2018, Miranda released her first acoustic EP, “Skin and Bones”. In 2019, she began releasing a series of singles, such as “Oh My!” and Headspace”, that will also be debuting on her upcoming album. The album release is anticipated for Summer of 2023.
In 2019, amongst the writing, recording, and performing, Miranda auditioned, competed, and won a spot in Summerfolk Music & Crafts Festival’s “Youth Discoveries” program. This lead her to perform in Summerfolk’s 44th festival, sharing a bill with artists such as 3x Juno nominee, Alysha Brilla, several Juno nominee and Polaris Music Prize finalist, Kathleen Edwards, and many more. Miranda has also performed for various venues and events, such as: Peak to Shore Music Festival, Blue Mountain Village Main Stage, Collingwood Art Crawl, Meaford Hall, Guitar Trail, Crow Bar & Variety, Black Hops Brewery, The Grey Restaurant, The Huron Club, Bruce Wine Bar, Simcoe Street Theatre, Gibson and Company, Mad Dogs Vinyl Café, MJ Byrnes Irish Pub, The Gayety Theatre, Make Waves Markets, The Red Brick Café, The Common Good Café, Collingwood Local Live Lunch, The Port Music Festival, and many other establishments and events.
Miranda’s major influences include Angel Olsen, Florence Welch, and Liza Anne. Her quirky stage presence, signature vocals, and lyrically-driven songs leave the audience captivated and wanting more. She continues to explore new ways to infuse throwback sounds with new, experimental ones. Miranda considers herself to be “New Retro”, she strives to stay authentic, but never puts limitations on what sounds she can create or how she can evolve.
