SUMMARY:V.Vecker
DESCRIPTION:V.Vecker (b. Keith Wecker\, 1983) is a composer\, improvisor\, and multi-instrumentalist using technology to explore his interest in the timbral and temporal possibilities that exist within electronic-based music. Utilizing sound design techniques to focus on the in-between sounds produced via a dense layering process\, V.Vecker is able to create dense and luxurious sonic textures that evoke a meditative sonic environment for the listener to immerse themselves in. His personal approach to sound creation is highlighted by the diversity of the acts he has shared the stage with (Tim Hecker\, Clark\, Sumac\, Thundercat\, Wolf Eyes\, Six Organs of Admittance\, Goblin\, Lori Goldston and Sun Araw) as well as participating in projects of Anthony Braxton and Glenn Branca. DESCRIPTION:The Beelays Trio has been performing actively around the GTA for the last 15 years. The members include Chris Bruder on vocals and piano\, Tom Altobelli on bass\, and Jordan Snider on drums. Originally from Hamilton\, they all met through the Mohawk College music program in 2008\, and have been longtime friends\, ever since. Known for their original adaptations of music from bands like the Beatles and other classic rock bands\, their unique approach to jazzifying pop tunes has seen the world. The group actively works on cruise ships and has 2 world cruises under their belt. They have been to every continent and perform at local venues at home.

DESCRIPTION:With his thick grey beard and ubiquitous wide-brimmed hat\, Harry Lee Follon looks like a man transplanted from a previous century. But that timeless image is the ideal reflection of his music — pure\, honest songs that are as emotionally resonant in 2024 as they would have been in 1924. On his new EP Uncle’s Lament\, out June 21\, Follon bares his soul on five songs\, accompanied by pedal steel guitarist Chris Hierlihy and fiddler Ally Corbett\, a marked change from his prior work with his band Uncle Harry & the Kickstands. “In 2021\, I lost my mom\, and there’s no denying she is all over these tunes\,” Follon says. “My mother loved music\, and she will always be a major influence on me — and my music.
