Last week GAIN Music hosted their annual festival at Van Gogh’s Ear. I wasn’t able to make it last year, but this years festival was uh-mazing. I had a blast and was really impressed with both the quality of music as well as the organization of the festival. These guys know how to throw a good show. Here are Nik’s wrap up comments and what is coming up for GAIN in the near future:
First off we at GAIN Music would personally like to thank every single person who was involved with this years festival! We will likely say it to your face a million times, but we truly do appreciate the response and participation that we have received in the three years that we have been running this festival and look forward to many, many more!!
Thanks to our sponsors, partners & crew; Wellington Brewery, City of Guelph/Downtown Board,Royal City Roller Girls, Sherwood Systems, Jam Spots, The Red Brick Café, Fiction Design,Music Lives, KronikNoise Promotions, Oaktree Media, Velvet Rope: Guelph, and a special thanks to all the photographers who came out and volunteered their time & talent to capture this years festival! Katie Maz Photography, Austin Gibson Photography, Steph Person Photography & Brandon Marsh, you guys are amazing as ever!
Now, on to more news!
We have a slew of shows coming up to finish off March so be sure to check our events section. Nothing for us in early April because it’s KAZOO!Fest time! Be sure to check out what they have going on there. Really amazing year lined up for that festival, which is happening April 3-7, 2013 across Guelph!
We are sad to announce that Dylan has decided to part ways with GAIN Music to pursue his own endeavours. We are saddened to see him leave, but we understand his decision and wish him all the best in the future!
With that being said, GAIN Music is undergoing some major changes! We have a lot in the works for the future of the company and in this ever changing industry we believe that a company must adapt and evolve to suit the times. Over the coming months we will be announcing more about our plans and what’s in store, but for now we will leave you with this:
We will continue to host & co-present shows and events across Guelph. We will continue to support the local scene while also providing venues and stages for touring acts to play on We will continue to support local businesses and venues who are active in our music community We will continue to explore new types of shows & events and new venues to keep contributing to the thriving Guelph scene. And finally, we are a company that is growing and so we are always looking for volunteers, partners, sponsors and, of course, bands!Contact us at info@gainmusic.ca for any questions on the above.
Contact Nik (nik@gainmusic.ca) for booking inquiries.
Here’s to the future!
Cheers!
