If you’re looking for something to do on New Year’s Eve, there’s no shortage of parties going on downtown, but there are a few venues that will have something extra special in the way of live music that might swing your vote!
The City Boys are regulars on the weekend at Doogie’s, but are coming in on New Years to play this special event. These guys are great mix of covers and originals. They have a ton of energy and will keep the night going to ring in the new year. Doors will be open at 8pm and music after 10pm.
Shimmy Rabbitson will be at the Wooly, playing their own brand of “swamp funk, porch stomp, and everglade reggae”. Guaranteed to be a good time, this is a free event will start after 9:30pm.
Manatee is an 8-11 piece improvising ensemble that mixes wild sounds, danceable beats, massive horn lines, and audiences as closely together as possible. This amazing group will be getting together for a special performance at silence to make you move! You can buy tickets at $10 a piece for this event which is sure to be a great way to get the new year started! Another option is to get a ticket AND support the band in raising funds to record their first ever video through their Kickstarter campaign!
This special performance from Guelph’s favourite punk band brought to you by Beau’s beer and Badlands Music. The Nasties will be playing a set of Misfits, Black Flag and some Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies and more.
